The Case for Stored Procedures

Almost nothing in development is a hard and fast rule. And “best practices” are not always best. Everything is dependent on the exact situation you are in. Sometimes it can be your client who sets the ground rules. And while most clients are reasonable, sometimes they come from a time when things were in fact, done a certain way and they don’t really have a desire to deviate. Some clients will hear you out and make a shift to a different method if proven that the new method will work better. Sometimes, the situation just calls for things to be done a certain way. In consulting your commitment is important. Your commitment to your job, your client, and even yourself are all extremely important. Without commitment, a client would not know if you can be trusted to complete the job. Google Chrome, It's a Start

So here’s what I predict (since everyone else is making their own predictions): Google Chrome will not take massive amounts of users from Internet Explorer or even Firefox. But through Chrome, Google will prove that web applications can be rich, feature filled, and fast. Chrome is the first step in proving that if you have an internet connection, what operating system you are on is irrelevent. Continue reading

Power of Information Sabatical

As of Show #93 I will be on sabatical from the radio show I have spent almost 2 years co-hosting, Power of Information.
