Songs & Such: "I Could be Wrong" by Vigilantes of Love

With the plugs out of the way, lets move onto the song for this week, “I Could be Wrong” from the Summershine album. The album Summershine is an interesting album because it is definitely unlike anything Bill Mallonee or Vigilantes of Love had done previously. The album is a brit-pop album, plain and simple. The band abandoned the Americana sound just this once to write “an album of love songs” focusing on the happy rather than the sad side of life. Continue reading

Songs & Such: "Could be a Lot Worse" by Vigilantes of Love

The song “Could be a Lot Worse” is off the album Audible Sigh, the second to last album to use the Vigilantes of Love moniker. The more noticeble alt-country tinge does not detract from the lyrics or rock-ish vibe the song wants to give off. In fact, that tinge is what makes the song work in its best possible way. EMI Reports DRM-Free Sales are Doing Well

If the sales continue to do well, more labels might follow suit and that would be fantastic. I know personally there have been a few albums I was willing to purchase off of iTunes but they were not from EMI so the were not DRM-Free. This made me consider getting a new eMusic account so that I could get the albums DRM-Free. I am pretty sure I am not the only one making a decision like this. Having DRM-Free music is important to me, especially more so since I am using Linux as my primary operating system. Continue reading
