iTunes Gets CW Programs

The folks over at iLounge are reporting that the iTunes Store now has the CW shows Supernatural and Veronica Mars. While I think that it is cool to finally have some CW programming on iTunes, I am surprised over the fact that Smallville is missing from this list. Where is Smallville?

I guess I’ll have to find another way to get Smallville on my iPod since I am already record 2 other programs in the same timeslot on my DVR.

Find Linux Equialents to Windows Software

The good folks over at Lifehacker, have published an article on the Linux Equivalent Project. The Linux Equivalent Project is a website that points Linux users to software that that runs on Linux that is equivalent or an alternate to Windows software.

I think this is great because newcomers to Linux do not always know what software will get the job they need to do done. Having a list of reasonable alternatives is a great place to point them to. With things like Ubuntu, that have software installation management that is as easy as point and click, installing these applications after knowing their name is super easy.

I wish I had a list like this when I first started using Linux. It would have been a lifesaver in some cases.

Ever since Microsoft officially announced that they were paying a “tax” to Universal Music for each new Zune sold people have been calling iPod owners thieves. I am not sure if this is F.U.D. perpetrated by Microsoft to get consumers frightened out of buying an iPod or something done by the record companies for similarly sinister purposes. Either way the the idea is beyond idiotic and not to mention down right wrong. Many of the arguments that are coming out of this “people who own large capacity players are pirates” has a lot to do with a myth that it is “impossible” to fill up a 60GB or even 80GB mp3 player with legal music. Let us look into this further…
