Today Apple released an update to it’s MacBook Pro laptop line. The MacBook Pro is the prosumer version of Apple’s laptop line that also includes the MacBook (replacement for the iBook). The specs on the cheapest MacBook Pro are 2.16Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo, 1 gig of RAM, 120 gig hard drive, and a 6x dual layer Superdrive. All that for just under $2000.
I’ve been trying to decide what my next laptop will be when I get some extra income. I previously owned a Dell and I was quite happy with their support and liked the general overall experiance of dealing with them. But with these recent updates to the MacBook Pro liine of laptops, I think I have decided to make the jump. The good side is that I can run Windows either via Boot Camp or Parallels and that will give me the ability to do my day job on my laptop while on the go. It will also allow me to scratch the occasionaly Linux itch that I get from time to time. Plus I get Apple support, which with my iPod support experience has a lot going for it at the moment.
