RIAA vs. The People, IP Address, and/or Anybody

Here is a nice article that dispells the myth that you can get out of an RIAA lawsuit by claiming that “an IP Address does not map to a person” and therefore invalidating the RIAA’s claim. It brings up some specifics in a few cases that other articles have been siting as proof of the proposed method working that show why in worked in those particular cases.

The RIAA, is still using lawsuits to force people into doing and acting like they want them to act, it has not worked yet, and with the advent of iTunes, eMusic, and other online digital music retailers it is becoming hard for them (the RIAA) to ignore that there is a demand for digital media and that people will go to great lengths to get the songs they want in a digital format.

This is a focus of my frustration for at least 5 years now, maybe it’s time I do a weekly commentary on the music industry, I haven’t done one in a while.
